FollowDesk sends automated SMS follow-up messages on behalf of businesses to leads and customers. This page documents how SMS consent is collected, stored, and honored, and lets you opt in or opt out directly.

Opt In to SMS Updates from FollowDesk

Use the form below to receive product updates and early-access invites from FollowDesk via SMS. Consent is not required to use the FollowDesk website or join the waitlist.

How We Collect Consent

Recipients receive SMS messages through FollowDesk only after providing explicit, informed consent. Consent is collected through one or more of the following methods:

Standard consent language used at point of opt-in:
"By providing your phone number and checking this box, you agree to receive automated SMS follow-up messages from [Business Name] via FollowDesk. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time, HELP for help. View our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service."

How Consent Is Stored

Every contact in FollowDesk has an sms_consent field that must be set to true before any message can be sent. The platform records when consent was given, the consent text presented to the user, the URL of the opt-in page, the IP address, and a timestamp. No SMS messages are sent to contacts without verified consent. Consent records are retained for compliance and audit purposes for the lifetime of the contact plus 7 years.

How to Opt Out

Recipients can opt out of SMS messages at any time using any of these methods:

Upon receiving a STOP request, no further messages will be sent to that number. A single confirmation message ("You have been unsubscribed from FollowDesk. No further messages will be sent.") will be sent to acknowledge the opt-out.

Message frequency varies by business and sequence type, typically between 1 and 10 messages per sequence spread over days or weeks. Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
